This year 2024 is a happy year for Quba Islamic School. How could it not be, this year Quba Islamic School managed to add to their collection of awards from international events.
Not half-heartedly, Quba Islamic School brought home two medals at once, one gold medal and one silver medal were successfully obtained after competing against dozens of participating countries.
Ms. Dyane or whose full name is Dyane Putriera Anggraeni, M.Pd is a companion teacher and mentor of 10 outstanding students who have brought these 2 medals home to Quba Islamic School.
On February 22-24, 2024, Ms. Dyane brought 5 of her students who were still in Secondary 3 to attend the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2024, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The five students were named Kamil Febricho, Naila Alya Mukhbita, Narendra Dylan Prana Arlanda, Qafka Musthafa Shafi Adha, and Raihana Mazaya Putri Alieza.
It started with Ms. Dyane who found information about MTE 2024 from social media. She intended to bring her students to participate in this international event with full confidence. Ms. Dyane saw that they had the potential to show up and were interested in the IoT field. This is what made them win the gold medal after beating 10 participating countries.
Not satisfied with just MTE 2024, Quba Islamic School once again sent Ms. Dyane to participate in another international event, namely the World Young Inventors Exhibition (WYIE) 2024, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which was held on 16-17 May 2024.
This time, the students who were sent were Auliya El-Fatiya Fachrudin, Azzam Irtiza Rabbani, Elnath Athillah Embaronsky, Kanz Alexandre Al Zahran, Muhammad Ervan Dzimar who are also students in Secondary 3.
At the 2024 WYIE event, the Quba Islamic School team had to compete against 15 participating countries and managed to bring home a silver medal and also a Special Reward from the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) for the innovation they made.
Ms. Dyane is a Science teacher who has been teaching for 5 years. 5 years is certainly a short time to teach, but the quality of the teacher is able to bring 10 of her students to bring home one gold medal and one silver medal.
In preparation for this competition, Ms. Dyane admitted that she had difficulty in managing her time to prepare for this competition. Considering that they had to go home later in the evening because they had to prepare for this competition. Not to mention the school holidays that they had to use to take care of all the things needed for this competition.
Cooperation between teachers and students, plus support from the school in terms of facilities and materials, opens up opportunities for them to show themselves in this very prestigious international event.
This proves that Quba Islamic School is not just an ordinary school that only focuses on academic grades, but they facilitate all their students with all their interests and talents to be able to prove themselves in various national and international competitions.
This is very important considering that school is not only a place to seek academic grades, but also a place to find the identity of students. That way, schools have carried out their obligations properly and also students can fill their youth with positive activities that will be useful for their future.
